William John (Bill) Bracken passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in Indianapolis. Born to Joseph and Isabelle (Logan) Bracken on October 1, 1951, in Berwyn, IL, Bill was named after the brothers each of his parents lost in World War II. His family moved to Indianapolis, where he attended North Central High School. After high school, Bill enlisted in the Air Force, serving in Guam and Spokane, WA.
Bill enjoyed studying history, and had a special interest in his Scots/Irish heritage. He had a passion for music of all kinds, and was an avid reader. He lived and worked in Indianapolis, where he retired from his position as Administrative Manager for Stantec Corporation in 2017.
Bill was widely known for his quirky sense of humor and much loved for his generous heart. He was deeply moved by the love and attention he received from his wide circle of friends who visited him toward the end of his life. He was beloved by friends and family, and will be sorely missed by all.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kate Bracken, brother-in-law Bob Walls, and sister-in-law Yvonne Bracken. He is survived by his siblings: Meg Walls, Trisha Bracken (Tom), Mary Bracken, Eileen Carter (Steve), Jim Bracken (Daryl), Beth Corder (Bill), Arthur Bracken, and by numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.

My condolences to the family and friends. I worked with Bill for many years at Stantec and he was always my go to person for anything. If we needed to vent about anything we both knew that we could call or email each other. I will truly miss his sense of humor and kind heart. RIP my friend.
